Asia Rugby and Asia Wheelchair Rugby sign MOU.

Asia Rugby President Mr Qais Abdulla Al Dhalai and Asia Wheelchair Rugby President Mr Rodney Holt signed an MOU to support the debvelopment of both codes throughout the Asia Region.






His Excellency President Horta the Noble Prize for Peace winner in 1996 witnessed the historical signing of an MoU between Asia Rugby and Asia Wheelchair Rugby in alignment with World Rugby and World Wheelchair Rugby strategic relationship.






Mr Qais thanked President Ramos-Horta for supporting the MOU signing yesterday, saying "Together, we can do even better. The President is very supportive because rugby involves youth." After this, the team will have a meeting with the sports minister to agree on the steps for developing the sport and its infrastructure in Timor-Leste.




Rodney Holt, President of Asia Wheelchair Rugby, also shared his thoughts on the collaboration: "This agreement marks a significant milestone in our mission to bring the benefits of wheelchair rugby to a broader audience. By working together with Asia Rugby, we aim to break down barriers and provide meaningful opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities. It's an exciting time for the growth of inclusive sports in Asia.”
